ARMONK, N.Y. - Traffic disruptions in downtown Armonk continued Thursday with one lane blocked on Maple Avenue near Main Street for the Armonk Square water main construction project.

There were similar delays Tuesday on Maple Avenue with none Wednesday when digging occurred across Armonk Square on Bedford Avenue.

"There are limited traffic obstructions, we won't stretch it out," said Brian Hildebrand, a civil engineer at Kellard Sessions, which has contracted with North Castle on Armonk Square.

For the water main project, "they're tapping into the existing water main for water service to Armonk Square," Hildenbrand said.

As workers dug around the existing main, Hildenbrand said, "They're exposing the existing main before they install the connection for the new main."
