ARMONK, N.Y. – Performances of "Seussical Jr.," the musical extravaganza based on Dr. Seuss characters including Horton the Elephant and The Cat in the Hat, will be presented at H.C. Crittenden Middle School Feb. 9, 10 and 11 at 7:30 p.m.

The production will include 83 students, including about 50 cast and 30 crewmembers, according to Kate Flanigan, the music teacher who is co-directing the production with music teacher Alan Lounsbury.

The cast members will sing along to a pre-recorded soundtrack and won’t play instruments, Flanigan said. The cast has been rehearsing since November and is set to perform.

“There’s been a lot of teamwork and it’s given kids a chance to work together, people have become really good friends,” Flanigan said. “It’s pulled in a variety of kids, from basketball players to tech club and robotics students. They’ve all come together to create a wonderful performance and it’s a heart warming story.”

Tickets for the show cost $8 and all students attending must be accompanied by an adult.
